GoSimple is built on a powerful insight backed by recent research: individual and systemic climate action reinforce each other.

When people make meaningful changes in their daily lives to use resources more wisely, they also become stronger supporters of sustainability policies and large-scale changes that help society move forward. Personal action fuels systemic change.

Since 2021, the GoSimple project, created by GreenUp, has put this into practice via two approaches: the Household Challenge Programme and the Community Outreach Programme.

Through 4 hands-on workshops, 4 fun monthly challenges and the support of a like-minded community, this annual programme helps households build sustainable habits and become positive impact multipliers in their neighbourhoods, workplaces, and communities.

So far, GoSimple has engaged 258 participants from 87 households on topics like footprint reduction, circularity, food, mobility, conscious living, digital detox and community action.

The results have been impressive, and even more remarkable is that participants maintain their new habits a year later.

In addition to the deep-dive Challenge Programme, we offer a wider audience opportunities to engage with sustainable living through expert-led online seminars, pop-up workshops, and guided visits to local sustainability projects and businesses.

So far, we have carried out:

• 10 in-person events and workshops for German-speaking and international residents, including a fermentation workshop with 600+ participants and guided visits to local sustainability projects and businesse
• 20 online deep-dive talks in English and German
• A community climathon in neighbourhoods

The GoSimple project was first established in Basel, where it is now fully developed and available in German and English. Follow the link below to see current activities in that location. The project is planned to launch in French in Lausanne in 2026.
